Reasons Why Delhi Girls are More Class Conscious
Class consciousness refers to being actively aware of one’s common status with others in a particular economic or social level of society. And with time, it is on a rapid rise, especially in girls belonging to urban cities specially Delhi that have become opulence centers of India. Here are the reasons why it is so:-
1) Status Symbol
People judge other people even faster than the blink of an eye. So, to make sure that their first impression is the best impression, girls try to be their best selves at all times. There’s a reason why all the brands are so successful now. This is it.
2) Geographical Baggage
Living in Delhi which has somewhat become fashion icon and development hub of the entire country, it has lead to have an unnecessary pressure on girls to broadcast their best selves continuously.
3) Too many expectations
Let me tell you one thing – girls are utterly and disgustingly harsh with themselves. They judge themselves even quicker than than any other person does. And when they find any shortcoming within themselves and see other girls acting all diva, they begin and try to look and be the same. Girls start doing and buying stuff to make them feel equal to them.
4) A means to rise above inferiority complex
It is a lack of self-worth, a doubt and uncertainty, and feelings of not measuring up to standards. It is often subconscious, but this it is so common in young girls these days. Stop devaluing yourself girls, you’re a gem as it is.
5) Overcompensation
Most of the girls are now the only child with no sibling due to the emergence of concept of Nuclear Families, which people find more convenient these days. So, to compensate for all the sibling love that they don’t get to experience, girls focus on other things and in the process, start doing stuff to make them feel good about themselves, which includes having a higher-than-good image in the society.
6) Preference to quality
Some girls just prefer to live a quality life that includes wearing clothes, footwear and accessories of particular brands. It’s just that they can afford to live a lavish lifestyle, so they do. Maybe it’s just the way they were raised and brought up. They were always a little more pampered. It doesn’t always mean a bad thing.
To quote Mary Barnett Gilson, “It is my conviction that in general women in are more snobbish and class conscious than men and that these ignoble traits are a product of men’s attitude towards women and women’s passive acceptance of this attitude.
Girls, listen loud and clear, you need to stop believing your differences make you superior or inferior than any person.
