How to Take Care of Dry Skin in Winters

It is common to have dry skin in winters but it becomes more problematic for people who already have a dry skin type.We need to take constant care of our skin in winters to keep it hydrating and rejuvenating and prevent it from getting dry. Here are some tips which you need to follow to take care of your dry skin type :

1. Limit the hot water intake in winters,as the heat temperature makes your skin drier .Hot water dry your skin quickly and develops cracks. Try to use lukewarm water to wash your hands and face and limit steamy shower time.

2. Moisturise your skin frequently, especially your hands and feet.Choose a lighter body lotion which should be loaded with natural inflammatory properties that can last long and slather it over your whole body to make it soft and supple.



3. Take a healthy rich diet in winters to keep you warm from inside and make your immunity stronger. Foods like Eggs, Sesame, Jaggery, Dry fruits, Desi Ghee and many more.

4. In winters we do not consume much water or liquid intake because of weather temperature, but it is very important to stay hydrated as it helps in treating your dry skin.

5. Do not use soaps or alcohol based cleansers as it makes your skin more dry.Opt for gentle and soft cleansers. Regular soap bars may contain irritating ingredients that can cause itchiness.

6. A good lip balm is a must in winters as it helps in treating your dry and chapped lips. Use it 2-3 times a day to keep your lips moisturized the whole day.
