Delhi Aunty Apologised after Saying Men should Rape Girls who wear Short Dresses

A video got viral when in a mall a Delhi Aunty was saying publicly that Men should rape women who wear short dresses because they are provoking them to do so. Some girls were shouting at the lady and recorded a video while she was saying all these things. And this video got viral on social media and received a lot of back lash from people. The lady real name is Soma Chakrabarty and resides in Delhi. After seeing the disrespectful comments on social media , she wrote an apology in public.

She said, “I extend an unconditional apology to all the girls. In hind sight, I realize, I was harsh and incorrect in my statement. If any, I should have offered my opinion in private. I was concerned, however, I realize that I should have been protective and progressive in my outlook and not conservative and regressive.”


As a wife, sister and a mother and more importantly as a woman, I value ever woman’s dignity. Once again, I profusely apologize to all women who’s sentiments have been hurt. — Soma Chakrabaty
