6 Unrealistic Expectations that can Ruin Your Marriage

When it comes to marriage, we all expect a lot from our partner but sometimes our expectations don’t get fulfilled. It’s ok to have healthy and reasonable expectations and it’s natural too but having unrealistic expectations in a marriage can destroy your relationship and will make you fall out of love.

1.You expect him to choose you over Parents

To be honest, a boy will never leave his parents because you want him to , they have raised him since his birth and he cannot suddenly give up on them. Sometimes it’s hard to adjust with in- laws but it’s best to resolve your issues with them on your own and not grind your husband for it. You should not put him under a situation when he needs to choose between you and his parents.

2. You expect him to make all the adjustments

A marriage is like a bicycle, both the wheels need to move together , in the same way you both need to make the adjustments and compromise according to the situation. You can expect him to make all the adjustments , you need to show him that you are capable of doing the best you can to adjust with him and his family

3. Expecting him to never say No to you

All human beings are different and have different thought processes which cannot be changed. Your husband can’t please you every time by saying yes to you. It’s natural when couples have disagreements and argue with each other.

4. Asking him to not meet his Friends

Friends are important in everyone’s lives, just because you are married now you can’t ask your husband to ditch his friends or not meet them . It will be completely unreasonable to ask them to give up on his friends as with friends you feel more happy and comfortable.

5. Expecting him to treat you like a Princess always

After marriage everything around you changes, there will be more responsibilities on you and your husband’s shoulders. You can expect your husband to never shout at you , treat you still like a girlfriend or princess. It’s time to step up and understand the responsibilities and share it together.

6. Asking him to leave all his interests

We all need our own little time no matter how old we are because doing things that interest us makes us happy and complete. It can be anything like shopping, writing blogs, playing indoor or outdoor games, hanging out with friends or simply lying on bed watching TV. It will be unrealistic to ask your partner to give up on his passions or interests just because he is married. You should too not give up on your interests and passions and continue doing what makes you happy.
